Casa Cuba was Able
to Help...
Casa Cuba also contributes to charitable causes benefiting youth, as was
the case when Father Marcos Dessy came to Houston seeking aid for his
projects in the remote region of Chinandega, Nicaragüa. Father Dessy,
an Italian missionary, has been serving, for 25 years, the children of
Chinandega who have been left abandoned, facing alone all the hardships
of poverty, malnutrition, diseases, illiteracy, all consequences of several
natural calamities and a prolonged civil war. Casa Cuba contributed to
the Benefit for the Children of Nicaragüa sponsored by the Nicaragüan
American Council for Development and Culture and the Rotary Clubs of Humble
Intercontinental, Bellaire Southwest and University Area.
DaCamera
of Houston
Casa Cuba’s, as a sponsor, contributed to DaCamera’s musical presentation
of Cuban trumpet aficionado, Arturo Sandoval performed at the Wortham
Theater Center in downtown Houston.
Talento Bilingüe
de Houston
Casa Cuba is collaborating with Talento Bilingüe de Houston, an inner-city
Hispanic cultural arts center, in Project “Houston Calling Cuba.” High
school students enrolled at the Talento Arts Center are asked to study
current events in Cuba using the internet and are then invited to interview
independent Cuban journalists over the phone.

Casa Cuba Pudo
Ayudar...
guerra civil.

DaCamera
of Houston
"Houston Llamando a Cuba."
